I'm afraid Frugaldad and I both have the same disease. It's the "I'm not going to buy that because I can make it myself" disease. Which can totally save money, provided you actually make the item in question. You've seen my fabric stash. I almost only buy fabric with a specific project in mind. See that red fabric under the table? It's going to be a skirt for me. Someday. I've had it for over a year now with the intention of making a great holiday skirt from it, but its place on the priority list falls as I decide to sew Christmas presents and stuff. I have a lot to blog about but a lot of the pictures are still on the camera.
Meanwhile, since the baby is a couple of months old now and I put on a few pounds over the holidays (after losing all my pregnancy weight in only a couple of weeks, thankyouverymuch) so my current focus is trying to lose some of the 40ish pounds that I have put on since Frugaldad and I got married and I had 5 kids. I've learned that I have been eating a lot more junk between meals than I realized so hopefully I can lose a lot of these extra pounds just by cutting out the extra snacks and stuff. read more »
This meal was brought to my family after the baby was born, and all but one of the kids devoured it, so I asked how it was made. I am going to change it today since I feel like it will be unaffected by my change and make it cheaper and more pantry-friendly. Serve over rice, I prefer brown but everyone else likes white. So we'll have brown ;-). read more »
