One Bountiful Day

I harvested all these goodies in one day in my own backyard. I didn't realize at first that I had set the eggs in a "nest" of green beans.

Things are slowing down in the garden but there is still plenty of work to be done.

Addition work and chicken news

Since we installed the backsplash two weeks ago, Frugaldad has been very busy and has accomplished a lot. Check it out here.

In other news, this week we found the first eggs from our new hens! I am pretty sure that it is either the black or golden sex-link hens and not the aracaunas. We've found 4 eggs in the last week but I expect to start finding more as all of the hens start to lay.

raspberry season has begun....

I mentioned a week ago that I'd picked the first of the red raspberries. The kids picked some during the week but yesterday I felt it was time for a serious harvest. I picked about a quart, but left hundreds of almost-ripe berries that will probably get picked tonight.  read more »
