Remember back in January when I resolved to lose weight? I can't even begin to tell you how many sweets, desserts, chips, cookies, and fried foods I haven't eaten. In the last seven weeks I've lost 13 pounds. I still would like to lose 23 more. As I got dressed recently I started compiling a list in my head.

Frugal reasons to lose weight:
1. You spend less on food. Practicing portion control is one of the simplest ways to cut your calories. You also quit buying junk food, like chips, soda, and cookies. The high-calorie foods you do buy last longer (in our house, one example is CHEESE!)

2. You have more to wear. Admit it. You hold onto those jeans in hopes that someday you will fit into them again. As my weight has slowly crept up, I've put off buying new pants because I was in denial. So my largest-size-pants collection is very small. I was sick of wearing the same two pairs of pants. Now that I'm a little lighter, I have like 6 more pairs of pants that fit. And I didn't even have to buy anything new!

3. You'll look better. Forget those expensive under-eye creams and moisturizers. Eat better, lose weight, stay hydrated, and your skin will benefit.

4. Your health. Obesity is associated with all sorts of health problems, like diabetes, heart disease, and joint pain. Lose weight and avoid all those medical costs. Your life insurance will cost you less too.

It's hard, but its worth it!
